The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
Review:
After reading some reviews on this book, I concluded it was going to be an amazing book. People were proclaiming it was the next Hunger Games, but I honestly don't see it. At first, it was so slow for me. It took forever for some action to show up. The whole part of being inside of her head was just crazy. I felt like I was going crazy. For the good points, when the action started, it really started.
The book started to get much better as it progressed. And we can't forget ever so sexy Adam that adds romance to the picture. The book was also well written and the main character, Juliette, was powerful and grew to be a stronger person as the book went on. I will say though, when you reach the end of the book, it feels like you're reading a completely different book. The ending was completely different from what I thought it would be. I felt like this book had more potential, but it still deserves 3 and a half trees.
